Families from all over the Vale were invited to join the Flying Start team to promote Child Safety Week.
Funded by Welsh Government, the Flying Start team in Barry are working together with families to produce positive outcomes for young children.
A family fun day on Tuesday 29 May on Kings Square, Barry, aimed to promote safety messages to parents in a fun, imaginative and engaging way to empower parents to make ‘small steps to safety’ as part of their everyday lives.
Child Safety Week is a community education campaign by Child Accident Prevention Trust, which encourages organisations to raise awareness of serious childhood accidents and offer advice and simple steps that can prevent this.
The key message is that the steps to safety are small but by taking these steps families can make a big difference to children’s lives.
Vale Flying Start thanked the 32 partner agencies involved and local businesses including Giggles, Ruckley’s, Jumping Jacks and the Mount Rooms for their raffle prize donations and Just Fancy for providing the fancy dress outfits.
