A new multi-million pound campus in the Vale of Glamorgan is set to be built by Cardiff and Vale College.
The college currently has a campus on Colcot Road in Barry, as well as the International Centre for Aerospace Training at Cardiff International Airport.
Cardiff and Vale College is currently assessing a number of locations and while it has not commented on specific sites, one is understood to be at Cardiff Airport.
Cardiff Airport recently revealed its long-term masterplan which included an education campus.
In a statement the college said: “Cardiff and Vale College has a long-standing aspiration and commitment to developing a new campus in the Vale of Glamorgan. The college is currently investigating a number of options as part of preparing a bid for funding from the Welsh Government’s 21st century schools and education investment programme.
” A final decision on options, sites or funding has not yet been made and while the college is working with the Welsh Government and a range of partners to ensure exciting, state of the art facilities are in place in the Vale, it may be some time before the college can finalise its plans.”
The college, which has facilities across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, has more than 20,000 students.
