On Sunday (3rd December), almost 500 people took part in the second Barry Island Santa Fun Run.
The event which is organised by Barry Town Council started in 2016 with just 290 participants, growing to almost 500 this year.
Participants take part in a 2k fun run around Barry Island dressed as Santa to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities which this year are Tŷ Hafan and British Heart Foundation.
The event was hosted by Bro Radio and supported by volunteers from Barry Round Table, Tŷ Hafan and the British Heart Foundation, with support from Barry Island Traders and Barry Town Councillors.

Councillor Nic Hodges is continuing the raise money for Tŷ Hafan and the British Heart Foundation throughout his year as Mayor of Barry.
His next event is Mulled Wine and Mince Pies at Barry Town Council Offices on Wednesday 13th December, from 4pm to 6pm. The event also celebrates Councillor Hodges Birthday.
