Appeal for information following unexplained death - Southerndown, Vale of Glamorgan

South Wales Police is investigating an unexplained death following the discovery of a body in Southerndown, Vale of Glamorgan.
Officers were called to Southerndown beach on July 5, shortly after 12.30pm, following the discovery of a man’s body.
The discovered man was wearing desert boots, a brown fleece jacket, dark jeans and had a black rucksack.
The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
Enquiries are continuing to formally identify the man.
Although formal identification has not taken place, the family of Antonio Collado Vergara, a 40-year-old man from Cardiff, have been informed.
Mr Collado Vergara, a Spanish national, was last heard from on June 26 and was believed to have been in the Southerndown area.
DC Mark Wonnacott, of Barry CID, said: “We are appealing for information to trace Mr Collado Vergara’s movements. He is believed to have been in the Southerndown area on June 26 at around 6.30pm.
“Mr Collado Vergara, is described as being 5ft9, of slim/medium build with grey short hair. We are appealing for anyone who may have seen him or has any information which could assist the investigation to please get in contact.
