Barry Island Discs is the first of four new monthly shows to air on Bro Radio in February.
The show will air on the first Wednesday of every month from 6pm and feature local politicians, celebrities and business people who will be asked about their lives, careers and play some of the songs of their lives on air.
The first guest on Barry Island Discs will be Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Councillor John Thomas.
Councillor Thomas was born in St. Athan and educated at St. Athan Primary school and Kings School Cardiff. After leaving school he attended Usk College of Agriculture before returning to the family farm at Flemingston.
He was elected to the Vale of Glamorgan Council to represent the St. Athan Ward in 1999.

Second Wednesday: The Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) Radio Show. Hosted by GVS and featuring Charities, Organisations and Volunteering in the Vale of Glamorgan, the show will give advice, discuss the third sector news and meet new and existing charities and organisations in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Third Wednesday: The Agricultural Show. Hosted by Glamorgan Smallholding, the show will talk about farming, agriculture and food in and around the Vale of Glamorgan.
Fourth Wednesday: The Indycube Business Show. Hosted by Indycube, the show will feature local businesses, advice and information for those in business or thinking of starting up a business.
