14 – 20th May is Mental Health Awareness Week and Barry Round Table with Round Table’s across Great Britain and Ireland have been supporting young men’s positive mental health for the past 90 years.
As a group of young men we are all too aware of how difficult it can be to be open and honest about our own mental health difficulties – last year one of our members openly talked to us about his difficulties he was having at that time. As a group we supported him by just being there, an ear to listen and to be non-judgemental. This then opened the door for others to be more open about their own difficulties, this has snowballed with members in other Tables also started to be more open.
As Table we are really proud to announce that we are founding sponsor and supporter of new website and support network for young men, Tablers and ex-Tablers –
The site has been the brainchild of our past member Dave Beadle who has said ‘the support and backing of Barry Round Table will enable young men across Barry and across the UK to feel more secure in coming together over their mental health all whilst seeing the benefits of being a part of Round Table’.
Round Table offers young men the chance to be with other men whilst being friendships trying new things, developing new skills, having fun all whilst supporting our community.
The aim of the site a part from support for young men is to develop a charitable fund to help those looking to join Round Table who may find it difficult to access to enable them to boost their positive mental health through what we do each month.
If there are any young men looking to do something different, develop new skills and support our community then get in contact with us at , or call us on 01446 343031.
