A Barry supermarket manager has launched 30 challenges to celebrate her 30th birthday, with a target to raise £6,189 for local charities, marking her date of birth.
Zoe Selby is the store manager of Colcot Road Co-Op and is raising money for the Welsh Air Ambulance, Cardiff Dogs Homes, Barry Round Table, AO Cymru and Welsh Hearts.
Zoe told Bro Radio “I have a massive passion to help raise money for great causes! So for my 30th birthday in January I’ve decided I want to raise money for four different charities by doing 30 fundraising events throughout 2019”
“I’ve been fundraising since I was 15 I always loved helping people and making a difference. My job as a store manager for the coop in Barry helps me engage with the community.”
“With the loss of my dad and my Nan recently I really find joy in helping others and doing my bit where I can.”
Zoe’s started her 30 challenges on the first day of 2019, taking part in the Barry Island New Years’ Day Swim raising £171 for Ty Hafan. She continued by taking part in an 8 lap, 10 mile walk around Roath Park with plans for the remaining 28 throughout the year.
As part of her 30 challenges, Zoe plans to take part in a Snowdon Zip Line, bungee jump, car wash, Brecon Beacons Three Peaks and many more challenges.
