Billboard Ensemble receives seven NODA nominations

Billboard Ensemble, the amateur dramatics group based in Barry has received seven NODA Nominations.

NODA is the national body that represents amateur theatre in the United Kingdom, with a membership of 2,500 theatre groups and 1,000 individual enthusiasts, who stage musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of venues across the Country.

The nominations, which are for the South Wales region follow the group winning Best Production in 2018 for Made in Dagenham and Best Performance by an individual in a Musical for Lois Banks.

This year Billboard Ensemble is nominated for seven categories including best production for the groups production of Sister Act, with individuals nominations for best performance in a leading role for Lorraine Lloyd, who played Deloris in the lead part.

Lois Banks, who won Best Performance by an individual in a musical in 2018 has also received a nomination for her supporting role of sister Mary Robert.

Billboard Ensembles Juniors section has also received multiple nominations, including for their Junior Production of Honk, with two junior members being nominated in the Youth section of the NODA awards, with Lucy Miles and Rhos Phyfer who played the leads in this years production.

The nominations are completed with a place in the Best Pantomine Category for the groups version of Beauty and the Beast, which took place at the Memo Arts Centre in Barry between the 20th and 23rd December 2019.

Billboard Ensemble will this year present 9 to 5 the Musical from the 23rd to 26th July, followed by the Pantomine Cinderella from the 19th to 22nd December, both at the Memo Arts Centre. The Juniors section will perform Fame Juniors from the 30th May to  1st June.
