Crowds Turn Out for Opening Weekend as Ice Central Returns to Barry

Following its hugely successful nine-day introduction last year, the Vale of Glamorgan Council has bought an ice rink back to a section of Central Park, this time for an extended period.

The undercover rink opened at 5.30pm on Saturday following the Christmas Lights switch-on at King Square, with Mayor Janice Charles and Deputy Mayor Leighton Rowlands among the first to get their skates on.

They were joined by hundreds of others during the first two days of Ice Central’s new five-week stint as this Christmas it will remain open until January 1 (excluding Christmas Day).
