Diners across Britain are this weekend being encouraged to support their favourite restaurants by nominating them for a brand new high profile national business award.
The widely recognised SME National Business Awards have announced a brand new category of Restaurant of the Year for 2019. It will include a Public Vote ensuring loyal customers everywhere can have a say in their favourite restaurant being recognised on the national stage by visiting
"We know that in the last few years UK households spend an average of £19 each a week at restaurants." said Damian Cummins, Director of the SME National Business Awards. "That passion for eating out shows what a successful, thriving and first class dining out experience is available across the nation."
"Every person and every family has their favourite place to eat. Now is the time to ensure those restaurants are recognised on a national stage." Damian continued. "That is why we are proud to have Restaurant of the Year as a fundamental part of our awards in 2019. Therefore this Easter we are calling on people to spend just a few moments nominating the restaurant they think is truly the best."
Independent restaurants are being encouraged the enter but those establishments who are part of a franchise or chain can also take part with a focus of the awards being venues where the brand name brings people in and keeps customers coming back time and time again.
"Restaurant visitors spend somewhere in the region of £88 billion every year." Damian said. "The best restaurants are the ones where people know what they are getting when they step through the door - quality food and a high standard of customer service."

Restaurant of the Year will form part of the 4 public vote categories at the SME National Business Awards 2019 which also includes Best Customer Service, Pub of the Year and Coffee Shop of the Year.
Each nomination in the public vote categories will be required to fill out an application form to complete their entry with independent businesses, franchises, and branches of larger businesses permitted to enter the public vote categories.
The competition is open to all businesses nationally who commenced business before January 2019.
Entry into the Public Vote categories is FREE, although an entry form must be completed.
Scores in the Public Vote categories will be determined by both the entry form (75%) and number of public votes (25%).
