Five people rescued from house fire on Christmas Day

Five people were rescued from a house fire in Barry on Christmas Day.

Three of those rescued were children.

40 Firefighters were called to the fire from Barry, Penarth, Ely and Cardiff Central Fire Stations at 5pm on Monday 25th December at Merganser Court.

The fire was in the second floor of the house and had breached the roof by the time fire crews had arrived.

The two adults and three children were unhurt but were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
