Cardiff and Vale Health Board has extended its Park and Ride Arrangements at Llandough Hospital following concerns raised by the Patients' Watchdog.

South Glamorgan Community Health Council raised concerns with the Health Board, after notification regarding the closure of the multi storey car park at Llandough Hospital from 19th August 2019 – 26th August 2019 for essential maintenance.

The CHC say they were concerned that the limited availability of the Park and Ride after 7pm could leave staff and visitors stranded at Llandough Hospital or unable to make appointments.

The Health Board has confirmed to the CHC today that for the period while the main multi storey car park is closed the park and ride will operate until 9pm.

With the Health Board investigating if they could arrange for this to be funded following the pilot period.

Stephen Allen Chief Officer of the South Glamorgan CHC said “It is great to have confirmation that the Health Board responded to our concerns and have extended the park and ride operational times over this period this would greatly assist visitors and staff during this period of disruption”.
