BY: Nathan Spackman

Volunteers from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have been highly commended in the Helpforce Champions Awards 2019.

When it comes to volunteers in the NHS “Thank you” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Which is why it’s important to for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to shout from the rooftops about the amazing work volunteers do every single day.

The Helpforce Champions Awards gave an opportunity to celebrate and share the invaluable contributions made by volunteers across the UK.

Health Board volunteers were shortlisted in two categories:

  • Young Volunteer of the Year – Ethan Prosser
  • Celebrating inclusion and diversity in volunteering – Library Trolley Service Volunteers

Michelle Fowler, Volunteer Services Manager at Cardiff and Vale UHB said: “I feel so proud that our volunteers were shortlisted in these awards and have been highly commended for their efforts.  These awards gave us the opportunity to shine a light on our dedicated and caring individuals who give their time and talents to help staff and support patients, families and carers.  I’d like to congratulate them on their commendations.”
