A housebuilder has supported a junior football club in Llantwit Major with a £1,000 grant.
Persimmon Homes East Wales, based in Llantrisant, has dished out £1,000 to Llantwit Major Junior Football Club.
The donation come as part of Persimmon Homes’ long-running and successful Community Champions scheme.
Each month Persimmon Homes donates up to £2,000 to community groups in each of its 31 geographical operating areas.
This means up to £62,000 is dished out every single month – a total of £744,000 a year, and more than £2million since the scheme started back in 2015.
Llantwit Major Junior Football Club wants to invest in new kit to develop its thriving girls section.
Victoria Williams, sales director at Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “We are delighted to support this good causes with this money. It’s a privilege to be in a position to support others like this.
“The football club has done very well to build its girls section and this money will help them take that to the next level.”
Eva Armstrong, of Llantwit Major Junior Football Club, said: “We now have 80 registered girls at the club. We’re in need of new goals, further coaches and a storage container. This grant will help us no end.”
