On Friday evening two Barry based businesses launched their new store on Broad Street in Barry with Alun Cairns MP, Barry Town Mayor Councillor Janice Charles, Vale of Glamorgan Mayor Councillor Leighton Rowlands and Miss Vale of Glamorgan.
Your Day, Your way and Vinylize moved to a shared premises, large enough for the two business to run independently whilst allowing them to keep overheads low, making the businesses more sustainable.
Your Day, Your Way was set up 4 years ago with the aim of providing decorations for small weddings, as the business grew so did the stock with the company continually needing to expand its storage. In its four years trading, the business has grown to provide full decoration packages for weddings, parties, corporate, black tie and themed events and is the preferred supplier to Cardiff Marriott, Mercure Holland house Cardiff, Holiday Inn Cardiff, Mt Rooms Barry, Mt Bistro Barry and recently the Future Inn Cardiff.
Vinylize set up at a shop in the Cwm Talwg just over a year ago, providing print and embroidery onto most garments, alongside canvases, banners, personalised mugs and more.
Tony Peter (Vinylize) met Carolyn Oliver (Your day, your way) through her Partner and realised they had actually known each other for fourty years!
After helping each other out with various aspects of their businesses over a few months, they decided that sharing a premises was the next big step in the growth of their two businesses.
They made the move to the former Jackpots Amusements store located near the lights at 20 – 21 Broad Street in Barry, which officially opened on Friday (28th September).
When asked why sharing the premises worked so well, Tony told Bro Radio: “I think it compliments each other, people come to see me for their Stag and Hen Dos and vise versa they see Carolyn and Aleida for their wedding accessories.”
