Local Children celebrate annual Harry Potter Book night at Barry Library

Wizards and witches were invited to celebrate Harry Potter Book Night with Fantastic Beasts as this year’s theme.

Led by Senior Assistant, Danielle Fox, and supported by library staff members, children donned their robes and scarves at Barry Library to mark the event on Thursday 1 February.

Libraries in Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Penarth, also held themed events over throughout the week, and were part of the 13,200 parties and celebrations that took place worldwide.

The children competed against each other, after being sorted into their houses by the sorting hat.

Hosted by Bloomsbury, the publisher of JK Rowling’s books, they had provided ideas, resources and activities, to remember the magical, mythical creatures of the magical world of Harry Potter.
