CARDIFF City disappointingly fell to a 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Newcastle.
After today’s game Newcastle overtook Cardiff in the league table and in turn escape the drop zone.
It would actually be Cardiff to get the dirt significant chance with Callum Paterson flicking on a pass to Nathaniel Mendez-Laing who’s pass just missed Oumar Niasse on his debut.
Newcastle would fire back with Ayoze Perez’s header was tipped over the bar by Neil Etheridge.
Newcastle took the lead in the first half through defender Fabian Schär, he burst down the right hand side before making his way into the box and firing low past Neil Etheridge.
Cardiff would look to pull one back before half time through Víctor Camarasa. His vicious effort was fired just over the bar.

Newcastle were the team to come out after half time the stronger. Ayoze Pérez held off challenges from Bruno Manga and getting a shot off.
Solomon Rondón fired a shot which was blocked by the face of Joe Bennett. Rondón sportingly put the ball out of play despite having another chance to shoot.
It wouldn’t take much longer for Newcastle to grab a second. It would be Schär again. He headed in Matt Ritchie’s corner early into the second half.
Cardiff were expertly denied a goal, as Bobby Reid looked to square the ball to Paterson for an easy tap in he was denied by Fabian Schär who intercepted.
Ayoze Perez rounded off the scoring late on in the game, Rondón found a bit of space and set up Pérez who could easily finish it to make it 3-0.
