Recent figures published by Welsh Government revealed that the number of young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) has reduced significantly across the Vale of Glamorgan.
The Vale saw the percentage of young people identified as NEET in Year 11 fall from 1.60% in 2016 to 1.00% 2017, this is a significant reduction which equates to the third lowest rate in Wales.
Figures for year 12 pupils have also fallen significantly from 1.40% in 2016 to 0.60% in 2017 and the number of year 13 pupils reduced from 3.07% to 2.85%.
Cllr Bob Penrose, Cabinet Member for Learning and Culture, said: “It is extremely encouraging that the percentage of young people not in education employment or training has been steadily reducing.
“It is vital that young people across the Vale of Glamorgan are able to access employment and training opportunities and build positive futures”.
