Children and young people in Penarth recently took part in an art workshop in efforts to raise awareness of The Kymin grounds.
On Sunday 15 July, members of PYA ran a creative workshop at the summer carnival in Penarth, to raise awareness of the work they have done, and together, children and young people created a piece of art work for Kymin Grounds.
A recent consultation on how to best use the Kymin Grounds community building, revealed that a total of 263 young people from Penarth wanted more concerts and festivals, themed activities, outdoor activities and a community art space in their town.
Members of PYA thanked the team at The Hold Up, a group of artists based in south Wales, for their help on the day.
Penarth Youth Action (PYA) is a youth council in Penarth that works with decision-makers to make sure young people’s views and ideas are taken into account.
Members get involved in projects and activities to improve the area for young people in living in their town.
Members, known as youth councillors, are primarily elected by young people from schools and youth organisations within the town to represent their views, ideas and interests and to take action on their behalf.
