Police in the Vale of Glamorgan are investigating a robbery which happened sometime between 11.30pm and 11.45pm on Wednesday 18th July in Llantwit Major.
A 15 year-old boy was cycling through the centre of the town when he was approached by a group of about 10 people near the Kings Head public house. They made threatening comments towards him as he cycled on.
He was then pursued into the shopping precinct where he was set upon and assaulted by three men who were part of the group. The victim was punched to the face and knocked to the ground. His bicycle, mobile phone and fishing tackle was taken from him.
A passing member of the public intervened and was able to retrieve the property and assisted the victim to get home.
The three assailants are described as:
Male one: A white man wearing a navy blue top with a white logo on the right hand side and jeans. He had short black hair and bulging eyes. He was about five feet eight or nine inches tall and of slim build. He spoke with an Irish accent.
Male two: A white man wearing a black shirt and jeans or dark coloured trousers. He was between five feet nine inches and six feet tall with lighter coloured hair and a bigger built than male one.
Male three: A white man wearing a white T-shirt. He had black hair and was of medium build. He also had an Irish accent and was between five feet nine inches and six feet tall.
Police in the Vale of Glamorgan are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident or to anyone who may have any information which may assist them in identifying those responsible to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555111 and quote reference 1800269324.
