Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that took place on the A4232 in Cardiff at around midday today (Tuesday 29th May).
One woman driver died following the collision involving two lorries and two cars on the southbound carriageway near Culverhouse Cross.
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in custody at Cardiff Bay Police Station.
The road was closed in both directions to allow the Air Ambulance to land.
The southbound carriageway remains closed while work continues recovering vehicles.
