The 2018 Barry Festival of Transport will be sponsored by the Sinclair Group as part of an innovative partnership approach to supporting events being developed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Barry Island’s annual transport festival will this year see vintage buses and coaches at the Nells Point car park, classic and specialist cars along the promenade and gardens, and historic motorcycles on show under the eastern shelter.
The Sinclair Group will be showcasing a sample of their current model lines across Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Seat, Skoda, Smart and Volkswagen at the promenade gardens at the centre of the festival.
Free return Heritage bus trips will run throughout the day between Barry Island and the Depot on Broad Street.
Rob Thomas, Managing Director of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: “The Council has always sought to work with local societies such as the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group to put on a wide range of events each year at resorts such as Barry Island.
“This year we are seeking to bring local businesses on board as well and are delighted to announce the Sinclair Group as the first to come forward to support an event.
“Their financial support has helped make this year’s Festival of Transport viable and the vehicles and stand they will be hosting will make the event better for all that attend.”
