Two charged with attempted murder after Barry assault

Two people have been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Barry.

Ian Huggins, aged 18, of Barry, and a 17-year-old, have both been charged with two counts of attempted murder.

They appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today (Jan 25) and were remanded and will next appear in court on February 22.

The charges came after South Wales Police said  is investigating a serious assault which took place in the West Walk and North Walk area of Barry in the early hours of today, Wednesday, January 23.

Armed and divisional officers were called to the scene shortly after 12.20am, where three men were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for treatment.

Police have today said that three men were taken to hospital for treatment and that a 23-year-old man remains in hospital in a stable condition.
