Vale 50+ strategy forum extends a warm welcome to all as they celebrate international older people’s day

Families of all ages are invited to mark International Older People’s Day at Barry’s Memo Arts centre.

From 10am – 3pm on Monday 2 October, people can take part in a variety of activities that will support both physical and mental wellbeing, including Laser Rifle Shooting, Boccia and Mini Golf.

The Vale 50+ Strategy Forum aims to work for a better future for people over 50-years-old across the Vale, by ensuring their voices are heard.

The Older Peoples Commissioner for Wales, Sarah Rochira, will address the event and Minister Jane Hutt AM will also attend.

People can also take part in low impact training exercises such as Tai Chi, Motion Control Dance, as well as poetry writing, art and craft and jewellery making workshops.

Light refreshments will be available and a number of accessible cycles will be there for those who need specially adaptive or dual rider machines.
