Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band president to retire

The President of the Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band Jeff James is to retire in November having been its President for the past fourteen years

Having also served as Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan County Borough Council, a position I held from May 1999 until December 2006.  I stood down as a Councillor last May after serving for thirty-eight years on the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

During his time on the Council he I served as Mayor in 1990/91 and held other positions including Chairman of Finance & Policy.

For this final term he was Cabinet Member for Planning & Transportation and Chaired the Committee.

He has   been married to Roxana for 25 years.

To mark his retirement the Band is to hold a concert in Rhoose at the Community Centre

Stewart Road   on 9 November 18 at 7:30pm.

Tickets: £5 on the door

Raffle and Refreshments also.

In attendance to mark the occasion will be the Mayor of The Vale of Glamorgan         Councillor Leighton Rowlands who has also graciously accepted the position of Band President along with the Chairman of Vale of Glamorgan Council Councillor John Thomas.
