An exhibition showcasing shorelines and docklands of west Wales by artist Philip Muirden is on display at Barry’s Art Central Gallery.
The exhibition was opened on Saturday 8 December by Vale Mayor Cllr Leighton Rowlands.
Cllr Rowlands said: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome artist, Philip Muirden. We are delighted to be showing his artworks at the gallery”.
Meriden’s work is a combination of surrealist style paintings and real life images that engage with the natural seascape, shorelines and docklands that surround his west Wales birthplace of Milford Haven.
Philip has worked as a teacher and a senior lecturer in schools and universities in the North of England and Wales, and was Head of Foundation, at Newport College of Art.
He has exhibited extensively throughout Wales and the UK with solo and group shows. Muirden has work is in a number of art collections held with the Arts Council of Wales, Newport Museum and the Contemporary Art Society Wales amongst others.
The exhibition is on display until Saturday 19 January.
The gallery will close from December 24-26, and on 1 January during the holiday season.
