Cardiff City got back to winning ways and have clawed back points in their relegation battle after beating Bournemouth.
Cardiff started the game in superb fashion by creating attacking opportunities. After a Josh Murphy cross had clearly been hand-balled by Steve Cook, a penalty was duly given. Up to take it was birthday boy Bobby Reid. He cooly converted the spot kick straight down the middle of the goal and gave Cardiff an early lead just five minutes into the game. His celebration was very classy as he held up a blue shirt with Emiliano Sala printed on the front.
It would be relentless pressure from that moment on by Bournemouth as they desperately tried to reorganise themselves. They nearly found themselves level around the thirty minute mark as Andrew Surman rifled a shot which was heading towards the far top left corner of the goal. If it was not from the heroics of Neil Etheridge it would have been a stunning goal but instead it was an even better save.
Callum Paterson nearly doubled the Bluebirds lead late on in the half, a superb whipped cross nearly found Paterson at the back stick and would’ve been an easy tap but fortunately for Bournemouth, Adam Smith just got in front of his man to clear.
Half Time: Cardiff City 1-0 Bournemouth
Cardiff City, just like the first half started with intent, Bobby Reid scored just nineteen seconds. He took the ball round Artur Boruc before slotting the ball in between two Bournemouth defenders. A second for the birthday boy, what a game he had. Just like that Cardiff has doubled their lead and made it twice as hard for Bournemouth to get anything out of the game.
Bournemouth made two substitutions in the sixtieth minute as Stanislas and Solanke were replaced by Ibe and Mousset.
Not too long later Sol Bamba had be warned about his constant fouls, with him already on a booking he decided to put on less risky challenges as to not get sent off.
Bournemouth made all three substitutions as they brought on Lerma on for Gosling in the hope for a goal.
Cardiff made their first substitution straight after Bournemouth made their final substitutions. Junior Hoilett replaced Josh Murphy.
Callum Paterson nearly found a third after a good counter attack from the halfway line. His shot was blocked.
Ake nearly pulled one back for Bournemouth late on in the game after Ibe whipped in a good free kick but Ake just couldn’t direct it towards the goal.
Oumar Niasse was the second substitution for Cardiff as he was replaced by Kenneth Zohore.
The star of the show was replaced by Cardiff city new boy in the final substitution of the game. Bobby Reid was replaced by Leandro Bacuna.

Man of the Match
Bobby Reid, two goals and played superbly throughout the game. It asks the question as to why he hasn’t been played more.
