19:07pm: FT: Barry Town United 0 – 4 TNS

We’re unbelievably proud of what Barry Town United have achieved in the past few years. Fighting from the brink of extinction to be here today. TNS were the stronger side, but Barry Town can come away from today with heads held high.

19:02pm: Barry Town United 0 – TNS 4

Another goal makes it 4 for TNS.

Great support for Barry Town from teams across Wales. I’m sure Gavin Chesterfield will be proud of what his team have achieved in the last 12 months.

18:49pm: GOAL

Barry Town United 0 – 1 TNS

A great chance for Barry Town hits the top bar. TNS are the better side, but Town look great when they have the ball.

Barry Town keep them back defensively and it ends with a TNS shot over the bar.

Aeron Edwards steps up to take a free kick for TNS.

TNS keep on pushing with four consecutive attacks on goal, but the Barry Town defence is standing strong.

Another great save from Mike Lewis keeps the score level at 0 – 0.

A statement many Barry Town fans will agree with. Could a substitution at this stage help Barry Town?

Another corner for TNS, saved by Barry Town keeper Mike Lewis. TNS keep possession and are on the attack again.

TNS have started the 2nd half strongly, with Barry Town currently holding them back.

A great atmosphere here, mostly created by a 650 strong Barry crowd.

Great to see so many people here supporting the Town including puils from St Helen’s Junior School.

18:15pm: 2nd half

Both teams are now back on the pitch for the 2nd half.

Gavin Chesterfield looks chilled whilst speaking to Sgorio. You can catch the game live on S4C.

Gavin Chesterfield will be happy with his teams first side performance. Defensively they’ve been great, but with a lot less chances on goal compared to TNS. This will surely be his teams focus as they head into the second half.

18:00pm: HALF TIME BTU 0 – 0 TNS

Half time here at Cyncoed Stadium and its Barry Town United 0 – 0 The New Saints.

A strong first half from both sides, with TNS the stronger side. Barry Town defensively have improved massively since the teams met last year in the Welsh FA Cup 4th round.

Two minutes till half time and a corner for Barry Town United is saved by Paul Harrison.

TNS keep on attacking but currently Mike Lewis (GK) and the Barry Town defence seem to be holding them back.

A great tempo to this game. TNS are the stronger team, but Barry Town have certainly improved since these two teams last met in the Welsh FA Cup 4th round last year. That game ended in a 5 – 2 defeat for BTU.

Almost 30 minutes in and a corner saved by Mike Lewis keeps the score at 0 – 0 at Cyncoed Stadium. TNS have had the majority of possession, but Barry Town are fighting hard.

Great save my Mike Lewis.

The 650 Barry Town supporters are certainly keeping the atmosphere alive here.

Barry Town united on the attack, but out for a goal kick. Followed by another attack for BTU, close but another save by Paul Harrison.

A strong strike from TNS as Mike Lewis knocks the ball out for a corner. It’s taken by TNS and they fail to make anything of it.

Ten minutes in and TNS are piling the pressure on, however with the strongest defence in their league, Barry Town are currently holding them back.

As two of the most successful clubs in Welsh domestic football, there is a strong rivalry here, as can be heard around the ground with a large number of supporters from both sides. Over 650 town fans have made the short trip here.

Free kick for Barry Town United. Easily caught by the keeper.

A strong first five minutes for both sides, with a lively atmosphere in the Cardiff Met Stadium. These clubs met last year in the 4th round of the Welsh FA Cup, with a 5 – 2 defeat for the Town. BTU Boss Gavin Chesterfield says ‘they are a stronger side this year’.
