Enjoy Christmas festivities and lights switch on by Gavin and Stacey star and creator Ruth Jones!! On Saturday 25th the event starts at 11am, with a market filled with gift ideas, food and drinks. Keep yourself warm with warm food and beverages and inspire yourself with an array of local crafters and retailers! There will be music, lights and fun for the whole family, with the lights at 6pm switched on by Ruth Jones as Nessa! We'll be having donkeys on the Square and a Lantern Parade, with Santa! The light switch on will take place at 5pm with the ice skating rink opening at 5:30pm!

The Best of Queen

The Bohemians have been paying homage to the world’s most theatrical and dramatic Rock band, Queen since 1996, and in that time have had a huge impact on audiences across the world. Front man and pianist, Rob Comber’s  outrageous stage antics and personality makes him perfect to play an uncannily realistic ‘Freddie’ with just the right look and stage persona. Rob is joined on stage by an enormously talented band including Christopher Gregory who brings all the electric guitar virtuosity required to play a very convincing Brian May. Their attention to detail is truly impressive. For over four decades’ millions of fans have been enjoying the music of Queen. The band released a total of 18 number one albums, 18 number one singles and 10 number one DVDs with estimates of their record sales ranging from 150 million to 300 million records. Jack Malik is a struggling singer-songwriter who finds fame after a freak event. This  a great to-tapping movie with all of your favourite Beatles tunes to sing along too. Organised by Rhoose Community Cinema at Stewart Road Hall, all profits go back into local community projects within the Village. Doors open at 6:45pm, with the film starting at 7:15pm. Meet Father Christmas on the Farm

The children will have the chance to write a letter to Father Christmas in the Elves' House and then receive a reply in the post from the Big man himself!! A unique event in a unique location, herald the start of the festive season and join us for our Christmas Fayre at St Donat’s Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan. This popular, family friendly, annual event showcases a creative mix of handmade designer crafts and food exhibitors; the perfect opportunity to get into the Christmas swing of things and pick up some great gifts. With over 50 stalls to browse, including a number of first-time exhibitors such as Boho Buffalo, Chris Short Woodwork, Seren Willow and The Welsh Cheese Company, you’re sure to find that extra special Christmas present. The Christmas Fayre takes place in the stunning grounds of St Donat’s Castle and Arts Centre. Younger visitors can enjoy face painting, Christmas crafts and not forgetting that all important chance to meet Santa in his grotto too! Santa fun run 2019

Barry Town Council’s Annual 2K Santa Fun Run and Doggy Dash is back for 2019 and will be taking place on Sunday, 8 December at Barry Island. The Annual Santa Fun Run is a perfect event for all the family to get involved in and is a perfect way to begin the countdown to Christmas! The event is split into two parts, the Santa Fun Run will begin at 11 am, with the Doggy Dash starting at 11.15 am. Please note that dogs will only be allowed to participate in the Doggy Dash. Adults are £6, children FREE and dogs are £2.40. All adults will receive a Santa Suit to complete the course in and all participants will receive a goody bag and medal. We encourage younger participants to join us in fancy dress (and take part in our fancy dress competition!) Please note: The Doggy Dash will take the same format as the Santa Fun Run, therefore all dogs must be kept on a lead and accompanied by an adult runner at all times. "There’s nothing Santa loves more than starting the countdown to Christmas by opening the windows of his giant Christmas calendar. But when he tries to begin the countdown this year, disaster –the calendar is broken and all the magical goodies inside have gone missing! Santa needs them to get ready for Christmas, but how is he going to get everything back in time? Join Dotty the Elf, Dasher the Reindeer, Jack Frost and Pompom the Penguin in a fun, festive, musical adventure to help fix the Christmas calendar and get Santa’s Christmas Countdown started – plus remember to bring your Christmas letter to post in Santa’s special post box!"
