South Wales Police officers in Penarth are looking for a man from the area, on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Marc Anthony Bloom, 32, from Penarth is wanted on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Holton Road Traders association are celebrating St Davids day with their first Dewi Sant Festival.

Brought to you by Holton Road Traders Association, Barry Shop Local and The Vale of Glamorgan Council, comes off the back of a successful Christmas weekend which saw Ruth Jones switch on the Town’s Christmas lights as Nessa.

The event saw around 7,500 decent on King Square, with the event covered in Newspapers and on TV channels across the world.

The new Dewi Sant Festival aims to celebrates all things Welsh. 

A Holton Road Traders spokesperson told Bro Radio “It’s our St David’s Day festival and we’re hoping to see roughly 1500-2000 people per day.”

“The event has a large funfair, activities for families, Face painting, Food, Drink, Afternoon Tea, Stage with music, Craft stalls, Street Entertainment and a lovely Dragon…..Which we’ll use to create a #hashtag competition.”

A Welsh Dragon will feature at the Centre of the Dewi Sant Festival

On top of the events within Central Park, James Danter and Sons will be back on King Square with their fun fair, creating a buzz around the Town Centre.

Working with Ceasers Coffee Lounge, the event will feature a traditional Welsh Aftternoon Tea within a marquee, in Central Park on Saturday 29th Feb. In a one off special, you’ll be able to tuck into this amazing home-made food, whilst listening to the music from the stage.

The Traditional Afternoon Tea must be booked in advance via Ticket Source.

A stage set within Central Park will feature School choirs, local bands and musicians, hosted by the team from Bro Radio.

Sunday 1st March will begin with the Welsh National Anthem from the local school choirs, before enjoying a day of craft, food and drink traders including:

  • Taffy’s Treats (Fudge),
  • Awesome Wales (Sustainable, eco-friendly wares),
  • A bit of a pickle (Preservatives),
  • Barrio and Lewigi (Pizza),
  • Barry Round Table (BBQ and Bar),
  • Eccentric Gin (Flavoured gin and liquor),
  • HogiHogiHogi (Hog Roast),
  • Barry Shop Local Group,
  • Artisan Crepes,
  • The Artisan Pastry and Bakery

The Dewi Sant Festival will be held across two days on Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March 2020 from 12pm to 5pm.

The event is FREE to attend, with free parking on Wyndham Street and at the Court Road Multi-Storey Car Park.
