Bro Radio have taken the decision to postpone their second Community Awards event, which was due to take place on the 21st March.
The station's Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to postpone the awards in an effort to protect the community from the Coronavirus, now labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.
The decision has been taken, following conversations with attendees who are considered to be at high risk of infection from Covid-19.
Operations Director at Bro Radio, Nathan Spackman said:
"We are really disappointed that we have had to make this decision, but we feel it is the sensible and responsible action in this instance."
"We must stress that this is a postponement and therefore the awards will be going ahead once we have a clearer understanding of the situation."
"This was not a decision taken lightly and we hope people understand that we are taking these measures to safeguard those scheduled to attend, be they finalists, audience members, sponsors or staff associated with the event. Health must take precedence."
All tickets and nominations remain valid for the rescheduled date, which will be announced in due course.
Bro Radio would like to thank its finalist, supporters and event sponsors for their understanding in light of recent events.
