The Welsh Blood Service has described the current low stock of blood in three types as “concerning” as they encourage residents of the Vale to book appointments for their sessions across April and May.
As of today (13/04), the WBS has just 4 days worth of blood in types O+ AB- and B- available to them, which according to a representative of the service who spoke to Bro Radio, is “concerning”.
In an effort to encourage residents of the Vale to attend their Give Blood sessions, the Welsh Blood Service are sharing the following message:
“If you don’t know your blood type, now is the best time to start donating. The Welsh Blood Service goal is to get around 7 days of all kinds of blood every time. Can you help us and give blood?”
Appointments in the Vale and the surrounding area are available throughout April and May, with sessions taking place in Barry’s Memo on the following dates.
