Barry Athletic Tennis Club is launching a new post-lockdown summer holiday tennis coaching programme including free coaching for adults.
Catering for all ages and abilities the club wants to make it as easy as possible to enjoy a socially distant-friendly sport.
New courses include Tennis for Kids, for new players aged seven to eleven. For £29.99 children will receive six weeks coaching, a racket, t shirt and tennis balls.
The club are also offering Summer Camps including one hour sessions for ages four to six years who are just getting started in the game and two hour sessions for ages seven to eleven who have some tennis experience where they will take part in coaching, games and competitions.
The final of the new offers is Tennis Xpress which is aimed at Adult Beginners who are new or returning to the game. This six-week course looks to to build confidence and skills costs £30 or is free if you join the club.
The Club is adopting guidelines by Tennis Wales, the ruling body for tennis in Wales, to ensure safety is paramount. Tennis Wales and the Lawn Tennis Association have published detailed guidance for venues, coaches and players, so that tennis in Wales is able to safely resume.
Court usage is limited to members only, new members are always welcome with a special offer of half-price membership available from the Club. Both Singles and Doubles play is permitted.
Commenting on the move the Club’s coach Rob Wedlake said: “Tennis is a social-distant friendly sport. By following guidelines we can do our utmost to play safe while enjoying a great sporting activity for all ages and abilities. We are looking forward to getting on to the courts and playing the game we love.”
