A Vale of Glamorgan councillor has gone on trial accused of historic sex offences.
Prosecutors allege Anthony Hampton (74) abused two boys and two girls between 1978 and 1994.
The former deputy mayor of Barry denies a total of 20 counts of indecent assault.
Cardiff Crown Court heard three of the complainants had been students of Hampton - and two were being tutored privately at the time of the alleged assaults.
The third said they had been abused in the classroom of a local school, while the fourth claimed she had been assaulted when she was young.
Hampton, a former chairman of the WJEC, represents the Illtyd ward on the county council as an independent.
He was suspended by the Conservatives, when the allegations first came to light in 2018.
The case is expected to continue for up to three weeks.
