Barry Dock Lifeboat responded to a call to assist with a capsized dinghy this morning.
The lifeboat had initially launched to scatter the ashes of former crew member Colin Davies but was tasked to the capsized dinghy on route.
Barry yatcht club sea rowers were first on scene and managed to offer assistance. They managed to get the person safely onboard the rowing boat and returned to the safety of the harbour.
The All-weather lifeboat managed to recover the sailing dinghy and return it to the yacht club.
The volunteer crew then returned to Cold Knap beach to show their last respects and scatter the ashes of former crew member Colin Davies.
