Craft Republic's Barry Island Gin has been chosen by the Heston Blumenthal Restaurant, The Hind's Head, as their "Gin Of The Month" for December.
The tipple is distilled using the purest Welsh water and has its home at Craft Republic, an independent craft beer, wine, spirits bar and bottle shop based in the Goodsheds, Barry.
Craft Republic started out as an idea over seven years ago and is run by a husband and wife team.
As described by the Craft Republic website, Barry Island Gin is "distilled using the purest Welsh water with a unique blend of botanicals that has been thoughtfully hand-crafted to deliver the perfect balance of juniper, citrus and spice."
Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier of The Hind's Head, Lowri Jones said of the decision to make Barry Island Gin their "Gin Of The Month" for December:
"Here at The Hind’s Head, we strive to champion small, independent brewers, wineries and distillers when choosing our beverage selection.
"With this in mind, Barry Island Gin was the perfect choice for our Gin of the Month. It’s freshness and lime and blood orange aromas have already made it a firm favourite with our guests. It simply is one of the best gins we have come across for some time."
In a statement on their Facebook account, Craft Republic said of the accolade:
"We're proud that our gin has been chosen by Heston Blumenthal's Michelin Star Restaurant - the Hinds Head. The incredible feedback is that Barry Island Gin is one of the best gins they've come across for some time!"
