Barry Island will be playing host to multiple events towards the latter end of this week, including storytelling sessions and an arts and crafts workshop.
The programme of events begins on Thursday 22nd at 11am, as Tamar Williams will hold a storytelling workshop at the Barry War Museum aimed at families with children between 9 and 15. During the workshop, Tamar, an experienced storyteller and workshop leader, will guide attendees through creating their own stories using the artefacts from the museum as inspiration. Book via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The fun continues on Friday with a storytelling session taking place between 10 and 11am. The session will be lead by Cath Little at the Eastern Shelter with Cath telling stories of witches and shape-shifters who lived in the area many years ago. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Additionally, on both Friday and Saturday between 11am and 4pm, Bill Chambers will be holding an arts and crafts workshop making sun pictures at the Eastern Shelter. Sun pictures, or cyanotypes, are a very early form of photography. The drop-in sessions are for people of all ages and there is no need to book.
