Barry Mum Gets Children's Christmas Book Published

A mum from Barry has had her children's Christmas book published in eBook form, ready for this festive period.

Junai Jones, a Breakfast Club Supervisor and Part-time Store Assistant from Barry has never written for children before but was inspired by her kids' love of bugs and Christmas to begin crafting a story.

Work only began on the book, which is about Santa having a bad cough, earlier this month, with illustrations also provided by a friend, Marcial Niebres Jr, in less than 10 days.

The feat of taking a story from its inception to a complete eBook in one month is made more impressive by Junai's other commitments. The hard-working Vale resident has had to balance her writing alongside being a mum, working and completing an Open University degree. Junai explained:

"With limited time between work, family and studying, I am just happy the eBook got finished.

"Barry has been my home since 2009 when I moved into the UK from the Philippines. And with my Philippine qualifications not recognized in the UK, I have to retrain, hence studying at the Open University."

The book, titled "Oh no! Santa Is Unwell!", asks whether Santa being unwell with a cough will affect him delivering presents in silence on Christmas eve and is aimed at children between 3-7.

This book is available free if you have Kindle Unlimited while also being available to purchase on Amazon. You can find the eBook, here.
