Barry Rugby Club will be fundraising for Marie Curie Wales on Saturday, as members share memories of Colin Knapman, a club stalwart of many years.
Knapper’s Day will celebrate the great contribution that Colin, who passed away in 2019, made to the club over more than 30 years - as a player, team manager, chair of selectors, membership secretary and committee member.
A framed picture of Colin will be unveiled, which will take pride of place in the club’s Dai James Lounge, and there will be a raffle and auction to raise funds for Marie Curie Wales, who supported him and his family during his battle against prostate cancer.
Raffle tickets will go on sale in the afternoon, immediately following the club’s pre-season friendly game against Cardiff Met (2.30pm ko), with the auction taking place in the clubhouse at 7.30pm.
