This coming Saturday, as Barry Town United play Connah's Quay Nomads, the club will be putting on a show with live music, a bouncy castle, and more to celebrate Manager, Gavin Chesterfield, surpassing the record of the most fixtures in charge of the Town.
Gavin Chesterfield took charge of his 490th game on Saturday with a 2-0 win against Goytre in the JD Welsh Cup, equalling the previous record-topping run of Basil Bright. Chesterfield's first game as manager of the club was back in 2007 and more recently, he has seen the Linnets start the current campaign well, with three wins in their last three fixtures.
The club revealed their celebration plans, the Barry Town Bonanza, in a social media post, saying:
"To celebrate Gavin's managerial milestone next Saturday we're planning on putting on a bit of a show hopefully on and off the field!
"Something for everyone from Live music to Bouncy Castles, slush machines and Candy Floss! Spread the word and join us Jenner Park for a fun-filled family day."
Saturday's fixture will be a stern test for Barry Town as they face the current JD Cymru Champions, though the Nomads have had a less-than-stellar start to the season by their current standards, drawing their last two league fixtures against Penybont and Caernarfon Town.
The game, kicking off at 14:30 at Jenner Park, and the ensuing event will be free to attend for all. You can find out more about Barry Town United on their website, here.
