Barry Town Council To Host Second "Pizza and Chat" Event For Young People

22nd July 2021

Barry Town Council will be hosting its second "Pizza and Chat" event on July 30th for young people to share their views and experiences of the coronavirus pandemic and how it has affected their lives and the lives of those in their community.

The first Pizza and Chat event, which was held by the council on June 25th of this year, was attended by ten young people who discussed their personal views on the last year and half, coping with lockdown life and the so-called new normal.

As its title suggests, the Pizza and Chat event will involve free pizza for attendees and the opportunity to share their experiences with like-minded young people from the area. Additionally, the Town Council are hoping to encourage attendees to join their Youth Council which will hold its first official meeting in September.

In a statement regarding the event on social media, Barry Town Council said:

"If you are aged between 11 and 18 years old and want to make a difference in your community, learn more about local democracy, make new friends (and like pizza) then please register to attend here or contact robynwalsh@barrytowncouncil.gov.uk for more information."

The event will be taking place at the Cemetary Approach Community Building in Barry between 4:30 and 6:30pm.
