JD Cymru Premier side, Barry Town United, have today revealed their kit designs for the 2021-22 season with the club deciding to continue to wear last year's bespoke design as their home kit as the team were unable to play in front of their fans last season.
The home kit, in the iconic yellow and blue colours of the club, features the names of supporters and local businesses within the blue sash on the front and a panel on the back.
In a statement on social media, the club stated that "some things are too good to change" as they announced their intention to keep last season's design, adding:
"The shirt proved hugely popular, but of course the team, unfortunately, were never able to play in front of those names who were on the shirt."
However, the club has decided to change up their away strip and Barry Town United will now play in anthracite, a shade of gray, with a neon yellow pattern on the collar and shoulders when they're on the road. The kit, produced by Macron Cardiff, is a new colour for the Town, with the Cymru Premier side having previously worn green and red while playing away from Jenner Park.
The new kit news comes hot on the heels of the announcement of the JD Cymru Premier fixture list for the 2021-22 season, with the Linnets set to face Aberystwyth Town away from home on August 14th in the first game of the new campaign.
Fans will be hoping for a strong start to the season, as mixed form in the previous campaign lead to United falling away from the leaders and placing 5th in the Cymru Premier overall. The club will have been buoyed by a series of fresh contracts for many senior members of the squad.
The new Barry Town United Away Kit is available for purchase on the Macron website, here.
