JD Cymru Premier side, Barry Town United have signed veteran goalkeeper, Lee Idzi from Camarthen Town.
Idzi, 32, ends a 6-year stint at Richmond Park, following the Old Gold's relegation from the Welsh top flight last year.
The veteran keeper has made 394 top-flight appearances in total, previously playing for Bangor City, where he was a Welsh Premier League and Welsh Cup runner-up, as well as for Neath and Haverfordwest.
Barry Town United's Manager, Gavin Chesterfield said of the signing:
"Lee is someone I worked with very briefly at Haverfordwest a long time ago and my conversations with him have been hugely refreshing. I think he’s excited to have a new challenge after being very loyal to Carmarthen over many years. He adds huge experience and character to our squad and I’m very pleased to bring him.”
Due to the current Coronavirus restrictions, the Linnets last took to the pitch on the 19th December in a scintillating 4-1 victory over Cefn Druids. The new signing gives them a much needed extra option between the sticks as loan signing, Josh Gould, returned to his parent club, Swansea City, following the postponement of the JD Cymru Premier.
New signing, Lee Idzi said of the move:
“I’m delighted. It’s a great club with a really good history and I can’t wait to get started.”
