Barrybados has announced a summer screening of the first series of Gavin and Stacey on Barry Island.
The screening will take place on Friday 28th August, as part of the 2020 Cinema By the Sea Weekend, allowing fans to relive how the show began on the famous resort, free of charge.
It's been confirmed that two films will still be shown on the Saturday and Sunday, as part of the Cinema By the Sea Weekender.
The event has been organised by Louis Ross, owner of Barrybados, with support from the Vale of Glamorgan Council and Visit the Vale.
Louis told Bro Radio he wanted "To do something for the people of Barry and beyond who have supported him over the past 6 - 7 years."
Louis quit his job and began running Barrybados and the Beach Hut Gift Shop on Barry Island full time then and says its success wouldn't be without the support of the local community.
"I actually had the idea way before the special was announced, i knew it was 10 years since the show had ended next year and thought there should be some kind of celebration on Barry Island."
"I think I messaged the council around about February time with this idea, and we went back and forth for a while, juggling ideas about what we could do and what was feasible."
"I started speaking to the BBC about permissions in March, way before it was announced, and then the special got announced in May, and I knew this definitely had to go ahead in some form."
"I would like to thank the vale of Glamorgan council and the BBC for getting on board with the idea, and ensuring everything was signed off before Christmas."
"This will be a first for Barry, I'm hoping it will bring thousands of people to Barry for the day, maybe even the weekend. I am hopefully working on a few extra things for the event which I can hopefully announce in the new year."
Details of the main Cinema By the Sea films are expected to be announced in early 2020.
