Bro Radio has launched a new partnership with local football team Barry Town United.
The partnership will see the station promote the JD Cymru Premier Club's Jenner Park home games, with the Bro Radio logo featuring prominently at the ground and in the programme, with the station supplying pre-produced announcements during match days.
Bro Radio will also be bringing fans all of the action from Jenner Park with live commentary available via its website and social media of all home games, thanks to a new partnership with the Welsh FA. Commentary will begin from Saturday 7th September as Barry Town United take on Caernarfon Town at Jenner Park with a 2:30pm kick off.
Live commentary will be supported by an hourly programme called the Yellow and Blue Army Radio Show, which will initially air on Wednesday nights at 7pm from 21st August. The programme comes off the back of the successful Yellow and Blue Army Podcast, which has been produced by Bro Radio and presented by lifelong Barry Town fan Rhys Deans.
Bro Radio's Operations Director Nathan Spackman said "We have always been big supporters of Barry Town United and this new partnership will really help us promoting each other."
"The addition of coverage of home games at Jenner Park and a weekly radio show is a great opportunity not just for Bro Radio, but Barry Town United fans around the world. We are also hoping to team up with other stations across Wales to bring our listeners commentary from away games where possible."
Yellow and Blue Army host Rhys Deans said "The podcast has been such a great success and its great that Bro Radio have now given us our own radio show!"
"The programme will be hosted by Barry Town United fans and will be opportunity for them to share their views, as well as featuring current and past Barry Town United players"
