Bro Radio's Community Awards, which were due to take place back in March, will now happen virtually on December 18th.
Despite optimism that the event could take place physically, it has become clear that, with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this will not be possible until some point late in 2021.
The station will now celebrate the work of the 30 individuals, groups and organisations who were nominated by the community earlier this year, at an event held virtually via Facebook Live from 7pm on Friday 18th December.
Operations Director, Nathan Spackman said:
"When we postponed the event back in March, we thought it would only be for a couple of months - no one expected things to go on for this long back then.
"Consulting with events specialists, we feel that this is the best option when it comes to recognising the work of our 30 finalists and we thank our sponsors for their support in allowing us to do this.
"This ceremony will focus on the work of people in our community in 2019, with plans to recognise the outstanding work undertaken during the coronavirus pandemic in early 2021."
Bro Radio's Community Awards is sponsored by Wessex Garages Nissan and supported by local businesses, who have supported individual categories.
