Cardiff & Vale Scout Post Cancelled For This Year


It has been confirmed that the annual Cardiff and Vale Scout Post has been cancelled for this year due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The Scout Post is an annual scheme that offers the public of Cardiff and the majority of the Vale of Glamorgan an opportunity to send Christmas Cards at a fraction of the cost of other postal services. The service has been in operation for many years and was originated by a group in Roath.

In a post on their Facebook account confirming the cancellation of this year's iteration of the service, the organisers said:

"It is with regret that we have had to make the decision to postpone Scout Post 2020. Owing to Covid-19 and the restrictions it can impose, we have concerns for our Scout Groups and volunteers being able to sort and deliver in a safe environment.

"Have no fear we are making plans for 2021 and thank you for your support and understanding.


Stay safe everyone."

This comes just over a week after a local lockdown was declared here in the Vale due to an increase in an effort to curb a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases.
