Coronavirus: The latest Vale of Glamorgan figures

 

As the United Kingdom is advised to enter Tier 5 by the UK's Chief Medical Officers, we look into the latest coronavirus figures for the Vale of Glamorgan.

On Monday, Public Health Wales announced that 1,898 Covid-19 cases had been reported in the latest 24 hour period, with 25 suspected Covid-19 deaths.

Here in the Vale of Glamorgan 94 new cases have been reported by Public Health Wales on Monday (4th January), with 24.5% of all tests conducted returning positive.

The latest 7 day rolling figures, between Christmas Eve and 30th December, a total of 683 cases have been reported - a total of 511.3 cases per 100,000 population.

During the 7 day period, 26.1% of all tests have returned positive, with a total of 2,620 conducted during the period.

The latest figures show that the Rhoose & St Athan have the highest number of coronavirus cases in the County, with 93 cases reported between the 24th & 30th December, with 62 cases reported in Barry Island.

  • Barry Island - 62 cases
  • Gibbonsdown - 48 cases
  • Barry West - 50 cases
  • Barry East - 50 cases
  • Palmerston - 51 cases
  • Lower Penarth & Sully - 51 cases
  • Penarth - 47 cases
  • Llandough & Cogan - 33 cases
  • Dinas Powys - 47 cases
