Barry Town Council have taken to social media to ask local people to help them name the new community building on Cemetery Approach.
The building, which was subject to two separate arson attacks during its construction, will be available as a community venue for birthday parties, wakes, family gatherings, meetings, events, training and local community group meetings from September, subject to Covid-19 regulations.
In their Facebook post, the Council asked locals to suggest names for the community building, developed in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
At time of writing, the overwhelming favourite name suggestion in the comment section on the Facebook post is a tribute to Bryan Foley, the 11th Barry Sea Scout Group Scout Leader and First Responder who unexpectedly passed away recently.
Barry Town Council concluded their post by asking those who would like to register their interest in a tentative booking for the autumn onwards to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to suggest a name for the new Community Hall, add your recommendation to the comment section of the Council's Facebook post here.
