A team of people from Dinas Powys Cricket Club are aiming to walk, cycle and run 3,000 miles, the length of Route 66 in America, to raise money for Velindre Cancer Care and new equipment for the club.
Organiser, Redmond Todd-Bennett is also inviting anyone in the Vale who fancies it to join the team and help complete the challenge.
Inviting people to take part in a post on the fundraiser's JustGiving page, Redmond said:
"We need as many people to get involved as possible to help us reach our target. You could cycle, walk, run or even swim to help us get there!
"It's a no-brainer to join the challenge as it helps to keep you fit, raises much-needed funds for your local cricket club and for a fantastic, worthy cause in Velindre Cancer Care too!"
"The challenge will begin on April 1st but you can sign up any time throughout the month but we want all your miles recorded so please try to sign up before then to ensure every mile counts!"
The club have set their fundraising target at £1,000, having raised just over 60% of that at the time of writing. The money raised will be split 50/50 between Velindre Cancer Care, A specialist cancer treatment centre located on the perimeter of Cardiff, and Dinas Powys Cricket Club.
